A 1-year Advertising course offers an overview of advertising trends and developments. Students will study current and emerging advertising issues in print, broadcast, new media and other advertising outlets through extensive use of multi-media presentations and online resources.

Students will learn the components of effective advertising campaigns, advertising industry terminology, examine emerging advertising issues in old and new media and cross-cultural advertising challenges.

Admission Requirements.

• A Grade 12 Certificate with admission to certificate studies
• Mature age applicants, 45 years and older without a school leaving qualification, may apply for a conditional exemption.
• Foreign students whose first language is not English may be required to provide proof of proficiency in English prior to admission to the program.

Workplace Learning

This programme includes a compulsory 300 hours of workplace learning component. Workplace learning provides important opportunities for professional and personal growth. It addresses specific competencies identified for the acquisition of the programme, which relates to the development of skills that will make the learner emplyable and will assist in developing their personal skills.
